14. December 2015
Yesterday, on December 13th 2015, we visited the designer market Holy Shit Shopping in Berlin.
The event took place on three floors of the former power plant in Berlin Köpenicker Straße in Berlin’s Mitte district.
Kraftwerk Berlin is an exclusive event and exhibition venue in the 1997 decommissioned southern section of the cogeneration plant Berlin-Mitte.
The cogeneration plant Berlin-Mitte was built in the DDR in 1961 and served until 1997 East Berlin with heat. After the old building stood empty for a long time, it was partly opened up in 2006 and a techno club moved there.
In recent years, an extensive renovation works were carried several times in the 100-meter-long turbine hall. Nevertheless, the ghostly atmosphere of the former factory building remained essentially preserved.
The event has made us curious already with its name – Holy Shit Shopping. In fact, our expectations were significantly exceeded – especially taking into account that fact that we recently have visited several “Designer Sales” in Moscow and Berlin..
The whole product range has been clearly divided into different subject areas, as well as spatially: decorative and joke articles, fashion, bags and other accessories, jewelry, sweets and other food.
Comfortable shopping ambience was encouraged by DJs who provided upbeat rhythms and in the gourmet area one could relax after a stroll.
