Update: Weihnachtsmarkt der Unikate at Bikini Berlin – we were there!

December 18th 2015
Yesterday we were again at Bikini Berlin – the Shopping Mall for conceptual young fashion at Zoologischer Garten.

Our goal was the “Weihnachtsmarkt der Unikate” (German for: Christmas market of unique pieces).

Shortly before the festive days one suddenly needs to acquire so many things – gifts, decorative items, etc.
We wanted to see the “Weihnachtsmarkt der Unikate” is also suitable for Christmas shopping.

 Our conclusion:

  1. The festive mood is there – the rooms are decorated and there are a lot of music!
  2. We have met some interesting designers from Berlin (below you can find a selection of brands and stores, we could recommend).
  3. The Christmas market is unique in itself, but it is not as great as e.g. Holy Shit Shopping market, which we visited last weekend. Anyone who has been once in Bikini Berlin, knows these relatively long hallway where the stands are set up. We particularly like the patio area where you will find a cafe. During good weather you can enjoy the sunset sitting on the bank.
  4. The location of Bikini Berlin is superb – connected to the Kudamm. It is very practical that you can stroll through the main shopping street of Berlin after that.

Of course, also in the shopping mall itself, there are a lot of fashion shops (a list of brands can be found here).

Meanwhile, there is also a Cyberport-Store (electronics) and a Kaiser-branch (groceries).

However, fans of the female and office fashion could be probably disappointed. On the other hand, there are many ultra-modern accessories (like chique bagpacks, bags and sac bags) and clothing in a sporty and casual style (streetware) which are essential for modern style-mix and grunge looks.

One must not forget that Bikini Berlin was opened only in 2014 and apparently still working on the recovery of its clientele, however. The events will be determined in the future getting better.

Have a nice weekend, everybody!
